Medication Assisted Treatment

Medication Assisted Treatment

In many cases of alcohol or opioid addiction, a combination of medication-assisted treatment and counseling can lead to long-term success.

At Gearty & Skiles we offer medication-assisted treatment options that can be coordinated with treatment you received in a residential center. We can also evaluate your treatment options and prescribe appropriate medications and outpatient counseling to keep you on the journey to success.

The first step is a thorough evaluation with an addictions counselor.

Treatment Options

Suboxone Treatment

This prescription medication is often used in combination with appropriate outpatient counseling to treat addiction to heroin, Oxycontin, morphine, Vicodin and other prescription, opiate-based drugs. Our addiction counselors will perform an evaluation to determine if Suboxone treatment is right for you.

Vivitrol Treatment

Vivitrol has been proven as an effective treatment for both alcohol and opioid addiction. It is a once-monthly medication designed to help prevent relapse after detox. It works by blocking the effects of alcohol and many opiates such as heroin, Oxycotin, morphine and other prescription narcotics. When combined with appropriate counseling support, Vivitrol treatment helps many patients handle the physical symptoms of addiction, giving them the time they need to tackle the psychological aspects of addiction through counseling and lifestyle changes.

Vivitrol is often administered at residential treatment centers, prior to patient discharge. We can help you continue your Vivitrol treatment and provide the counseling and support you need for long-term success. Even if you have not received your first injection of Vivitrol from a residential treatment facility, we can still help. Our experienced addiction counselors will perform an evaluation to determine if Vivitrol treatment is appropriate and arrange treatment with our staff doctors to administer the medication.
